Ryan Chalmers is a man with a plan! His plan is to push his racing wheelchair across America. Ryan was born with Spina Bifida but has never let that slow him down. For those of you that aren't aware of what Spina Bifida is, it's a birth defect where the end of the spinal column doesn't fully close resulting in paralysis. Ryan is making his trek across America to bring awareness not only to his disability but to all disabled individuals. He wants to show people that if this is possible the possibilities for the disabled are endless. Sort of if there's a will there's a way type of mindset. At the present time he is half way on his journey of which is going to be around 3,500 miles and a 71 day trip. Heart and sole is what keeps this guy going and he is not going to let anything be an obstacle that he can't overcome. If you would like to track his progress he has a website that is updated regularly and he needs all the support he can get! I applaud Ryan for be bold and setting a goal and following through.
