Competition!!!

Competition!!!

I have been bowling bad here lately, more than likely from lack of practice!! :-P But I have been talking with a buddy of mine that also bowls and we have been having a little competition! Now Grant Buehler bowls from his wheelchair as do I, but our disabilities are very different. I am a T4 T5 paraplegic and Grant was born with cerebral palsy. But do not think that I have any advantage over him because he averages 126 and Im only averaging 122. No Grant is a total inspiration and this competition we have been having has helped me concentrate more like I do in tournaments. But its the competition that fuels our passion. Whats your passion? Is there a sport you were once good at that you don't do anymore due to your disability? Why not? And if it is impossible for you to do that sport, that competitive nature that you have inside you is begging to come out!! Look into different activities or sports you can try cause you will never know you are good at something unless you try. I just recently got into a handcycle and rode for two miles, it was great to be out with everyone else riding like I used to. I went pretty fast and they said I should really think aboout racing cause I was pretty fast. Now I don't know if they were saying that to make me feel good or if I might have another tallent but the fact of the matter is I would have never enjoyed that experience if I hadn't tried it. Like the lady in the picture you will never know how good she is unless you were out there bowling against her! The way I was bowling before I started bowling against Grant I think she could have beat me!! Well take the time to try something new and get some competition in your blood it really makes you come alive!! Until next time! :-)

  1. Well lets see if we can make a passion fruit competition! It could be the fastest, the messiest, the most provocative, the least messiest, or the most disgusting eating! You can do it Mike just put your mind to it!
