MY NEW CHAIR!!! CROSSFIRE T6
New Wheelchairs!

Every four to five years your insurance should consider gettting you a new wheelchair. Now just because it has been four to five years does not guarantee that it will be covered. Your chair must be unable to be repaired or the repairs must cost too much to be considered. A lot depends on your doctor and if he feels that the chair you have is causing problems, you have outgrown it or the parts are no longer available for repair. A new chair is like a new pair of pant, shoes or coat, sometimes they take getting used to. Remember when changing manufacturers that the parts from your old chair will more than likely not work on your new chair in case it should have a problem. Be careful when changing chairs cause they might cause you more problems like aches and pains that you did not have when you had your old chair. Once again it might just take getting used to. But I got to tell you there is nothing like gettting fitted for a chair and it fit perfectly makes you feel like a new man or woman. Make sure you don't let the salesman talk you into a chair your not sure about cause you might be stuck with for four or five years or maybe even longer. Do you homework see if you can try one out, sit in it and move around, wheelies, transfers, all the things you need to do while in the chair, but most improtant pick a color that matches your personality and have fun showing it off!!!!
